3 guilt free sorbets to beat the heat!

Dairy Free Iceacream

A summer treat you don’t have to feel guilty about! With temperatures heating up around the country, whipping up some healthy sorbet is a delicious way to cool off. Free from dairy and refined sugars, these sorbet recipes will go down a treat. The only hard part? Choosing which flavour to make!

Raspberry sorbet

Lime and raspberry sorbet

Ingredients

2 cups frozen raspberries
Juice of 1 lime
1 tsp coconut sugar
1/3 cup coconut water
1 tsp pure maple syrup

Method

  1. Combine all ingredients in a blender or food processor and blend until smooth and creamy.
  2. Place in a metal tin and freeze for three hours or until set.
  3. Scoop and serve!

Salted Caramel icecream

Salted caramel and pecan sorbet

Ingredients

2 ripe bananas
5 medjool dates
¼ cup coconut water
1/3 cup pecans, roughly chopped
1 tsp pure maple syrup
¼ tsp Himalayan salt

Method

  1. Combine ingredients (leave out half of the pecans) in a blender or food processor and blend until smooth and creamy.
  2. Stir in remaining pecans.
  3. Place in a metal tin and freeze for three hours or until set.
  4. Scoop and serve!

Macadamia icecream

Lemon and macadamia sorbet

Ingredients

2 cups plain coconut yoghurt (try Coyo)
¼ cup raw macadamia nuts, chopped roughly
1 tbsp. macadamia butter
Juice of 1 lemon
1 tsp coconut sugar
5 medjool dates
¼ cup coconut water
2 tbsp lemon myrtle infused macadamia oil (try Brookfarm)

 

Method

  1. Combine ingredients (leave out macadamia nuts) in a blender or food processor and blend until smooth and creamy.
  2. Stir in macadamias.
  3. Place in a metal tin and freeze for two hours or until set
  4. Scoop and serve!
