The healthy hotspot you should visit this weekend

Breakfast of champions and yoga by the sea.

BSKT Café, Gold Coast, healthy food, matcha, breakfast, brunch

We’re well aware the Gold Coast is big on all things health and fitness, or overall delicious meals and quirky venues. It’s no secret there’s no shortage of options when it comes to venues. Yet we may have found a winner in the double whammy of healthy café and yoga studio.

With its cosy interior and beachy vibes, there is little reason not to enjoy your Sunday morning lazing around at BSKT Café. Laid back, bright and airy, it boasts a loft-style yoga studio on its second floor and is just a stones throw from the sandy beaches of the Gold Coast.

The main attraction, however, is the food. Gold Coast Titans teammates Greg Bird, Nate Myles and Matt Rogers have conjured up some seriously healthy and delicious meals inspired by their athlete lifestyle. Vegan and paleo friendly, their breakfast options are nothing short of inventive and mouth watering.

The Navajo Native Breakfast is a mexican take on eggs benedict; with fried free-range egg, their special BSKT beans, avocado and tomato salsa with Lemon Myrtle Essential Oil, all on a native flatbread. Or try the Super Berry Cacao Pancakes to satisfy your sweet tooth. In case you find yourself with the appetite of a rugby player about to have his last meal, then you’ll definitely go for the Bushman’s breakfast with poached eggs, nitrate-free bacon, field mushrooms, sweet potato bubble and squeak, spinach and tomatoes.

BSKT Café is also home to COCO whip, the delicious vegan and bio-fermented soft serve gaining attention for it’s all-healthy no-nonsense alternative to ice cream. It is the mid-afternoon beach day treat of choice for health nuts.

Speaking of nuts, the cafe makes it’s own vegan granola and health bars so you can take the good stuff on the go, along with their own superfood powders.

As for the yoga component, daily classes are on offer, ranging from prenatal mums and bubs, to an all-levels class. The BSKT yoga studio, with it’s floor to ceiling windows and relaxed atmosphere, is a great way to burn off that hefty breakfast, or work-up your appetite for the next delicious meal.
