Q: Congratulations on your Cheeky Swim range. How did it all come about?
“Thank you! How lucky am I? I guess it was a natural progression. I have been working as the face of Glue stores for over a year. It’s a great team and we all get on famously. The idea to do swim seemed to make sense to everyone so here we are.”
Q: Were you hands-on in the design process?
“Yes very, I was given full creative control around the idea, the beauty of working with Glue Store was that there was someone to reign me in when my ideas went a bit too crazy!”
Q: What is your favourite piece from the collection?
“It’s changed numerous times! I love the Cheeky Swim Pieces Of Me one-piece. It’s colorful, quirky and is literally little jigsaw pieces of me. Moroccan inspiration, frills, a low back, high cut legs and patchwork that flows against the musculature of your body. It’s everything I love. Then there is the black bikini – every girl needs one!”
Q: You’ve got such a huge international following on social media. How did it all start for you?
“It’s really developed over the years. I can’t really pinpoint how or why but when I travel the audience really responds to that and I see my numbers grow.”
Q: What is off-limits when it comes to social media?
“Never post something that you will look at in time and ask – “what was I thinking?”
Q: What are your top tips for a perfect selfie?
“Good lighting! And a beaming smile (from your eyes usually)”
Q: What is your favourite Instagram filter? Do you use any other editing apps?
“A6 on VSCO”
Q: Who are some of your fashion icons?
“It changes all the time. I can’t say I have a fave. I like women from all walks of life who wear their fashion choices with confidence.”
Q: How do you stay in shape?
“I exercise everyday and depending on how I feel that day usually first thing in the morning – whether my body wants a run on the beach, a run up the stairs to Byron light house (woah intense) a long walk after dinner, boxing at home, dancing around in the back yard, circuit training (with jump rope and burpees etc.) some yoga, or maybe even just a rest day. I am a big believer in listening to your body and not pushing it so hard you burn out.”
Q: Where are your favourite places to go in Sydney?
“Orchard Street – amazing vegan organic coffee, food, smoothie and juice bar!
Perfect Potion is where I buy all my essential aromatherapy goodies.
Smile Please Photo First on King Street in Newtown for all your analog camera needs.
About Life for a quick organic supermarket shop.”
Q: What’s next for you?
“I actually just randomly booked flights to visit London and Amsterdam with my boyfriend for 10 days in 2 weeks! Love a spontaneous trip! I’ve never been!”
