Genie Juicery, Hong Kong
A city like Hong Kong is usually bustling on an ongoing basis. Filled to the brim with food, shopping, culture and, unfortunately, pollution. As exciting as this metropolis may be, it can be hard to grasp the level of toxicity that occasionally presents itself as the notorious cloud of haze around the city. So it’s no wonder most urbanites are looking for a way to detox and cleanse, from the inside out.

Enter: Genie Juicery

Aussie-born best friends Melanie Barnish and Cara McIlroy understand this desire to have a balanced body and mind in a bustling city. Having relocated from the Gold Coast, the two entrepreneurs are the co-owners and founders of Genie Juicery, the go-to for a cold pressed bottle of your favourite raw, vegan and organic juices, smoothies, nut mylks and cold brew coffee.

Genie Juicery was originally a juice detox program, and has now become a staple in the diets of many, offering 1-6 day cleanse specials that can be delivered right to your door. Or if a mid-morning pick me up is what you’re looking for, why not head to their flagship store. After a successful yet humble start with two flagship stores in Shueng Wan and Sai Yin Pun, the genie-us entrepreneurs have relocated to the iconic ifc Mall, a one-stop-shop for the trendiest and most fashionable in the city. We recommend their cold brew coffees or green smoothies. But we also have a feeling their “Supreme High” with cold brew coffee, almond, meedjool date vanilla bean and pink himalyan sea salt will do just the trick for that afternoon slump.

As certified health coaches from the school of Integrative Nutrition, Barnish and McIlroy are very conscious of what goes into their bottles, having started out of their very own kitchen. The concoctions they brew aim to educate and rejuvenate Hong Kong’s health conscious, and something tells us they’re doing it just right.
