Are you one of those people who spend hours sitting in a café on your laptop? (Freelancers we’re looking at you). We get it, without an office, finding a constructive work environment is a challenge and working from home (read: bed) is a productivity nightmare – Netflix is within arms reach, the fridge is always looming and there’s no one to contradict your justification for a power nap.
But now, thanks to the Serotonin Dealers – a group of Melbourne happiness enthusiasts injecting smiles into the community – you can stop annoying your barista (and start annoying theirs) at the Serotonin Co-Working space. Located in Burnley, Victoria, this shared workplace was specifically designed (seriously, they brought in a colour psychologist) to be a balanced yet inspiring space to nurture ideas and, most importantly, help you get sh*t done.
With perks that extend beyond free wifi, you’re guaranteed to be productive. You’ll kick-start the day with a complimentary energising smoothie and opening meditation session to clear the mind. Next, you’ll get your caffeine fix from the in-house barista and knuckle down until midday when you can enjoy a collective break and choose to sit in on an educational session on the day’s topic (talks range from business to nutrition and everything in between). While you cultivate your Trivial Pursuit knowledge, brain food will be delivered to your desk in the form of a serotonin-approved lunch developed by expert nutritionists to stabilise mood and awaken the brain. Buzzing with nutrients, the afternoon will fly by and you’ll knock off early to make use of Serotonin’s exercise centre, the park across the road or the raw vegan dessert bar before finishing the day with a soothing 5pm harmonising tea designed by Serotonin’s tea sommelier.
Serotonin Co-Working space is a freelancer’s playground. Book a desk in a Japanese-inspired booth, beneath a light-filled window or even on a swing – if rocking back and forth can’t put a smile on your face, nothing will.
