TO DRINK: Green Protein Smoothie

This easy and tasty green smoothie is a great way to nourish and refuel the body. Yoghurt, almonds and chia seeds are great sources of protein and spinach is a good source of iron and can help detoxify the liver.

You’ll need:

  • 1 banana
  • 1 handful fresh spinach leaves
  • 2 tbs flaked almonds
  • 1 tbs organic chia seeds
  • 2 tbs organic natural yoghurt
  • 1/2 cup almond milk

Blend until smooth, serve, enjoy!

TO EAT: The Healthy Ingredient Organic Bircher

I have a serious weakness when it comes to bircher muesli and this is my quick, go-to recipe. It is low GI, high in fibre and raw honey acts as an antibacterial agent in the body.

You’ll need:

  • 2 cups organic rolled oats
  • 2 cups preferred milk (almond or organic soy)
  • 1/2 cup organic sultanas
  • 1/2 cup organic flaked almonds
  • 1 tbs organic shredded coconut
  • 1 organic green apple grated
  • 1 tbs organic raw honey

Place oats, milk, sultanas, coconut and flaked almonds into a container. Stir to combine. Place mixture in the fridge and allow to soak overnight. In the morning stir thoroughly until moist and add grated apple and honey. Store in an airtight container in the fridge.

TIP: Top with fresh berries and yoghurt before you serve. It makes it looks amazing and taste even better!
