“We were put here to disrupt.”

Just a few days into 2017, and those words ring so true. Galvanized by the events of the past year, we’re ready to take the next 365 days by storm—by becoming better, stronger, braver, and bolder in every way possible from the way we workout to the way we dress.

Of course, Nike knows exactly how to craft a pair of shoes that make us feel like we can conquer the world. Their new Ultraforce Mid ($110) and SF Air Force 1 ($165) launch on January 5th and 19th, respectively, and we already know they’re going to be our go-to power shoes. Who needs sky-high heels when you can rock black leather platform sneaks?

We’re anxiously anticipating the Ultraforce Mid drop—can someone please speed up time?—but Nike’s new “The Force Is Female” campaign is giving us all the feels. Captured on the streets of L.A., the street-style inspired spread photographed by Ro.Lexx features six women who are making big waves in their respective industries. Confidence, poise, power, joy, fearlessness—these women perfectly embody “The Force Is Female” manifesto.

Check out the latest additions to the sportswear line and meet your newest girl crush(es). Keep the steady stream of inspiration flowing through 2017 by following along as they make history by shattering  one rule at a time.

We are a new generation.
A generation born with a realness.
A braveness.
A force.
A bond that ties us together.
But never holds us down.
It’s an undeniable boundary that defies definition.
A reminder that we are never finished.
Yet always complete.
From the courts to the streets,
We were put here to disrupt.
Made legends because we will not exist within the lines.
We prove that vulnerability is not the same as weakness.
Flawed not the same as imperfect.
It’s a power in our every step. A refusal to stop.
It’s that rule-breaking, decision-making, name taking, don’t give a damn in all of us.
It’s never one thing. It’s everything.
It’s who we are. As one. As all.
It’s the force.
THE FORCE IS FEMALE.
