Cha Cha Matcha, NYC

Wake up New York, there’s a new way to get your cup o’ Joe… and it’s green. Newly opened Cha Cha Matcha is set to be your new go-to, and it has the stamp of approval from Gigi Hadid.

NYU graduates and co-founders, Matthew Morton and Conrad Sandman returned from a trip to Japan, matcha powder in hand and a plan to open their very own matcha shop. Fast forward to today, and the pink and green setting, that is Cha Cha Matcha, is a tropical oasis within an urban jungle. Thanks to its fun, Havana-meets-L.A diner vibe it’s no wonder the cafe has gained traction with New Yorkers.

From iced lemonade matcha to soft serves, macaroons, donuts and cupcakes, the green stuff is the key ingredient to anything and everything. By the looks of their Instagram, we’ll have whatever they’re making.

You’ve probably already heard us praise the benefits of matcha, but we’ll remind you once again. It works like a coffee substitute, providing energy that much needed energy hit without the buzz (or crash) that is associated with caffeine. In addition, matcha claims to boost your metabolism and help with weight loss.
