We know it sounds nuts. We get it, your ‘whole life’ is on that precious little device but frequently checking your phone is doing you and your career harm.

In a survey of 500 US university students, researchers found those who checked their phone the most had higher levels of anxiety, lower grades and were less happy and satisfied with their lives than their fellow students who put their mobiles down more often.

So give your smart phone a rest, you both deserve it.
