Luxurious serenity. Two words that form a perfectly apt description of The Byron at Byron Resort and Spa. Recently, Bianca and I were lucky enough to move the Sporteluxe office up to this stunning resort in Byron Bay on the NSW North Coast for a week. Yes, typing away on our laptops in between dips in the pool, spa treatments and yoga classes wasn’t exactly the toughest of work assignments! Having been thoroughly impressed by the beauty and luxury of this place, we thought we’d share some precious photos from our stay, along with our top three reasons we love The Byron at Byron!
It’s a little hard to articulate just how incredibly tranquil the location of the Byron at Byron really is. The moment you arrive all your city stresses just melt away. It’s quite magical really. The resort is nestled among 45 acres of lush subtropical rainforest and wooden boardwalks wind their way around the property, and guide you to nearby Tallow Beach. So it’s definitely worth spending some time exploring. Remember to be mindful as you wander around. Listen to the cacophony of rainforest sounds and don’t forget to look up and notice the sunlight streaming through the foliage.
From the sophisticated-yet-relaxed décor of the rooms, to the heavenly pool which is heated to just the right temperature so as to be refreshing but not too cold, every little luxurious detail has been thought of at The Byron at Byron. But what’s really special is how all this luxury compliments the natural beauty of the rainforest rather than competes. You still feel incredibly connected with nature, even though you’re enjoying five star comfort. So make sure you take some time out to relax and enjoy it. Sitting on your balcony sipping a cup of tea and soaking in the divinely deep bathtub are definite must-dos.
The Byron at Byron isn’t a health retreat. However, there are plenty of healthy offerings for wellness devotees. The free daily morning yoga is a definitely a highlight. What could be more serene than saluting the sun in the midst of all this natural beauty? The spa has an impressive treatment menu and all the therapies utilise luxe natural products. The restaurant also has some great dishes that are sure to impress– the chia puddings at breakfast and the Balinese fish curry with brown rice certainly got our tick of approval! If you’re a real healthy foodie we’d also recommend signing up to join the chef and his team for the free tour of the Byron Farmers’ Market which takes place every Thursday morning. Just don’t get carried away and buy too much produce that you won’t be able to take home!
