3 Reasons You Should Add A Powder Cleanser To Your Skincare Regime
Introducing our latest beauty obsession.
It’s funny to think that back in our parents’ day, just one skincare product reigned supreme — Oil Of Ulan (now known as Olay.) Fast forward to 2017 and having to pick just one product would be like having to pick a favourite child!
Not only is there a seemingly endless selection of brands to fill our beauty bags with, but there are so many different types of skincare products. Even just within the category of cleanser, the shop assistants at Sephora need to ask you “which type?” From gels and creams to no-rinse cleansing oils and micellar water, we’re spoiled for choice.
The newest kid on the facewash block is the powder cleanser. While the thought of rubbing a gritty substance over your face may make you cringe, they’re a lot gentler than they sound. In fact, they actually feel much like a normal cleanser as they turn into liquid once they’re mixed with water.
So, if they’re just like a normal cleanser, why would you bother switching over to a powder? Well, they also happen to come with a bunch of skin-boosting benefits. Read on for the top 3 reasons powder cleansers are our new skincare obsession (plus, where you can get your hands on some!)
Unlike liquid cleansers, powder cleansers don’t require preservatives to keep them fresh. This means they’re generally a lot more natural than most mainstream skincare brands — but will last longer than many of your other natural products!
2. They’re customisable
Not only will cleansing powders give your skin a deep cleanse, they’ll also exfoliate it! But unlike your average microbead exfoliator, it’ll leave your face feeling soft, not raw. The best part is, you can customise it based on your skin needs. So, if you have super sensitive skin you can mix it with more water for a gentler scrub and vice versa.
3. They’re easy to travel with
How annoying is it when you want to take your favourite cleanser with you on a trip but the bottle is way bigger than the 100 ml limit? You could pour it into a mini travel bottle, but why do that when you could just bring your powder cleanser? You also won’t have to worry about it leaking everywhere!
