4 simple ways to beat stress and be more balanced

Holistic nutritionist and founder of natural beauty and lifestyle brand Be Genki Samantha Sargent shares some great advice to bring more zen into your life and achieve that elusive balance.

  1. “If you’re an energiser bunny and exercising a lot, allocate a little chill time so that your body has time to rest and recuperate. Take a moment in the day to meditate, have a soak in a warm bath with epsom salts, read a good book or get a massage.”
  2. “Let go of all the diet ‘labels’ that define and confine you, for they bring with them a truck load of judgments when we stray from the rules. Whether it’s vegetarian, vegan, pescatarian, paleo, blood type or any other way of eating, take the time to listen to your body and the signs that it gives you when you eat certain foods, so that you learn to instinctively know what is ‘right’ for you. We’re all different.”
  3. “Give yourself a gift each and every day. It could be a couple of minutes watching the sunrise or conscious breathing, a mindful mini self-massage as you apply your morning body oil or a yoga class. Whatever it is, be present and give yourself that same level of kindness and nurturing that you do to your loved ones. It all starts with you. When you’re happy and balanced, this overflows to everyone around you.”
  4. “Make the commitment to yourself and sign up for a convenient and do-able, effective e-course, such as my program 30 Days of Genki which kicks off 8 November, so that ‘one day’ turns in to ‘today’. Sometimes we need a little helping hand to focus our efforts and guide us in the ‘right’ direction, to actualise the transformation we desire as life can be a juggling act.”
