5 hair health tips and tricks you need to know!

Summer hair

As a hair stylist and co-owner of Oscar Oscar in Paddington Paloma Rose Garcia tends to the locks of some of the best-tressed women in Sydney. We chatted to the hairdresser extraordinaire and asked her to reveal her five best-ever hair health secrets.

“Avoid heat styling. This seriously dehydrates your hair which leaves it looking dull. Once a week max! And balance it out with a mask treatment.”

“Get a clear gloss put through your hair. We use Redken glosses and they are amazing. Imagine a clear sheet of cellophane over the hair! Sooooo shiny. And it only takes about 30 minutes at the salon.”

aveda paddle brush

Wooden Paddle Brush, $49.95

“Brush you hair before bed. Brushing your scalp stimulates the oil glands and hair follicles, which helps hair remain thick. Brushing the scalp will get rid of impurities on the scalp. The healthier your scalp, the healthier your hair. It’s like body brushing for the hair. Use a good paddle brush such as the one by Aveda or Shu Uemura.”

Kerastase masque

“Care for your hair through professional hair care. Ask your hairdresser to prescribe you an individual prescription. Hair needs change so your products should too. Kérastase and Shu Uemura are my fave. If your hair lacks moisture use a mask as a conditioner.”
