Unless you’re Nigella Lawsone or Jaimie Oliver, almost everyone could use a little help in the kitchen, especially when it comes to inspiration for what to do with chicken, tomatoes and eggs. That’s why we decided to round up some of our favourite recipe apps. They’ll help make life in the kitchen that much easier and healthier.
1The Hippie Lane
The Hippie Lane’s emphasis on great photography is what makes this app stand out from the pack. Expect over 50 sweet vegan recipes and video demonstrations to ensure you don’t struggle in the kitchen. Meanwhile, a favourites bar lets you save the best recipes and the shopping list displays the required ingredients. Too easy!
This app makes it easier to cut processed food from your diet, providing hundreds of healthy recipes. Simply Organic will even locate organic stores that hold the necessary ingredients for you, giving you exclusive store deals.
The Merrymaker Sisters have just launched their new healthy recipe app, and it doesn’t disappoint. Get instant access to hundreds of quick, easy and delish recipes that are free from gluten, refined sugar, grains and dairy.
4Donna Hay What’s For Dinner
To say we’re Donna Hay fans would be an understatement. We love the culinary queen and everything she stands for: basic ingredients that are simply prepared and beautifully photographed. So, it’s no surprise her What’s For Dinner app makes the cut. Search the range of recipes by your favourite ingredients or ones you already have in your pantry or fridge. The app also has useful shopping list and timer functions.
SparkRecipes ditches the careful curator of other apps in favour of a user based system. Over 500,000 recipes have been submitted, and you can sort through these recipes based on dietary requirements like gluten-free, low-carb, or vegan options.
6Healthy in a Hurry
Created by EatingWell, Healthy in a Hurry offers a selection of 200 of the publications favourite healthy recipes. None of the meals take longer than 45 minutes to make, and some are ready in just 15 minutes. The recipes and ingredient lists are pre-loaded and available offline for added convenience.
