We love Lorna Jane, Nike, Lululemon, and everything on Carbon 38 as much as the next health-focused woman, but unsurprisingly our bank account isn’t always a fan. Considering most January goals focus around health and fitness, and last month is one of the most expensive on the calendar, I’d say that it’s time for affordable activewear now.
With that in mind, we combed the internet, asked experts, and did a lot of window shopping to bring you a list of hugely underrated hotspots for budget gym clothes that still look great.
Forever 21 has really been boosting their activewear game lately, and now offer options for runners, dancers, and everyone in between. We’re particularly keen on their new ballet and barre line (super pretty!), but the classic leggings and sports bras are pretty cute too. To be honest, the quality isn’t amazing, but considering the price, F21 activewear is still a bargain.
We first learned about Dutch brand Jogha after speaking with the founders of online store, Fashercise. They touted Jogha as one of the best affordable sportswear lines on the planet, and we kind of have to agree.
Kiava is a boutique family business that really nails the leggings category—so if that’s your jam, go check out the website. Prices kick off at around $50 for bottoms and $34 for bras.
Even though it’s been around since the ’80s, you may not have heard about activewear brand Marika. They found their success at the height of the aerobics boom making brightly-colored leotards, and while they still stick to the same bright and bold aesthetic today, there are also plenty of options for activewear minimalists.
You know Sabo Skirt as the place for flattering, summery, trend-led pieces, but it’s also a great source of athleisure. Sure, these pieces probably aren’t as durable as your Nike tights, but they’re definitely perfect for a busy day running errands—and perhaps the occasional Pilates class.
Yes, Australian online store Showpo is a great place to pickup your next beach vacation wardrobe, but it also offers a lesser known, but equally cute (and affordable) activewear collection. Shop high-waist leggings with a matching sports bra for under $50 for the set. In addition to prints, they also have a lot of great black basics in flattering shapes, which not a lot of the budget sports brands seem to have mastered.
