This week in Wellness Watch we’re working out for free at Fitness First for #NOFEAR Fitness Week, checking out the MindBodySpirit Festival and supporting Breast Cancer in the Jog for Jugs fun run!
Are you stuck in an exercise rut? This week, October 20-26, is Fitness Week. To help celebrate, Fitness First are inviting all members of the public to come train at their clubs for free. Yep, you read that right, free!
The theme of the week is #NOFEAR with a focus on stepping out of your comfort zone and trying forms of training. Fitness First [gyms across the nation will be participating in #NOFEAR Fitness Week by setting a different #NOFEAR challenge each day of the week. For example, Tuesday is about the mind/body connection with a focus on yoga and Pilates, Thursday is all about Dynamic Movement Training and Saturday is about strength. Each Fitness First club will be host a range of different free special events, workshops and classes.

The MindBodySpirit Festival is the perfect event for those wanting to take a holistic approach to their wellbeing. It will be held at the Sydney Showground from 23-26 October 23-26 and again at the Melbourne Exhibition Centre 14-16 November. Brisbane will also host their own festival but not until February next year. Get in touch with your inner peace by learning new ways to beat stress and test out new wellbeing products for your mind, body and soul. Relax your mind at the Healthy Living Hub, chill out in the Meditation Room and even watch live demonstrations at the Soul Kitchen.
It’s time to pull on your fave pink top and run in the Jog for Jugs fun run in support of breast cancer. On 26 October , Mermaid Beach and Plantation Park in Queensland, Mindil Beach in the Northern Territory and Scarborough Beach in Western Australia will each host fun runs for this worthy cause. All donations will go towards breast cancer research and support programs. The event is free and it’s up to you how much you wish to donate.
