The countdown is on for Blackmores Sydney Running Festival on September 20. Team Sporteluxe is already onboard and if you want to join us, registrations are open. Still in need of some motivation? Here are five reasons you may not have considered to sign up. Get training and book your ticket to Sydney, pronto!
Have you always wanted to cross the iconic Sydney Harbour Bridge on foot and traffic-free? Well, this is your chance to tick it off your bucket list. There are four spectacular events to choose from for all ages and abilities, including the Marathon, Half Marathon, Bridge Run and Family Fun Run. Rise to the challenge of the Blackmores Sydney Marathon or Half Marathon and finish at the Sydney Opera House, or take part in one of the two short fun runs and finish at the stunning Royal Botanic Gardens. It promises to be a truly beautiful and rewarding experience.
Get friends and family together to line up at the start with some of Australia’s sporting heroes and media personalities, including this year’s official ambassador Jesinta Campbell and Team Sporteluxe’s own Rachel Sharp, Melanie Davis and Olivia Boyd Smith, among a host of other well-known Australian faces. Hey, you never know who you’ll bump into at the post-race village.
As the saying goes, summer bodies are made in winter, so this is the perfect opportunity to kick start your workout regime. And if you’re anything like us, that tiny fear in the back of your mind you won’t make it to the finish line on race day is an awesome motivator to get training. Not sure how to get started? Check out our beginner’s guide to training for a marathon here.
Warmer weather, beautiful blooms, stunning sunsets, buzzing cafes, yes, spring is possible the best time of year in Sydney. So why not make the most of this glorious time of year to enjoy this festival which will have you running, jogging or walking amongst some of Sydney’s most iconic scenery?
Whether you’re an individual or team, it’s always great to seize the opportunity to run and raise money for charity. Not only does it make you accountable (yep, another training motivator) but it leaves you feeling as good on the inside as you look on the outside after all of that exercise. Since it’s inception, the event has raised over $14 million. You too can help make a difference by signing up to help one of the affiliated charities, or even one of your choosing.
