Train with Commando Steve

Fitness First St Leonards has just undergone a total makeover! To help celebrate the club’s refurbishment, celebrity trainer Commando Steve will be hosting a Freestyle Group Training session using the clubs new-and-improved facilities. Think battle ropes, box jumps and sled pushing just to name a few of the new additions to the club. The event is taking place at lunchtime this Wednesday 8 October between 12pm – 2pm. The $10 entry fee will be donated to the Chris O’Brien Lighthouse Foundation which supports those living with cancer.

Get your glow on with the Neon Run

Want to take part in one seriously fun run? The Neon Run is taking place around the country, kicking off in Sydney this Saturday 11 October, Adelaide 1 November and Perth 11 November. Melbourne will be hosting their own Neon Run too but not until next February.

We think it’s a great way to escape the heat usually associated with daytime fun runs by running at night! Watch neon lights brighten up the dark sky as a sea of neon runners pass you by. With DJs spinning motivating tracks to get the crowd pumped you might end up dancing the night away as well. Want to stand out from the crowd and keep warm at the same time? We’re fans of the New Balance Beacon Jacket, $180 which takes glow in the dark sporty style to the next level. For more info or to register for the Neon Run visit

Get the kid involved with the Little Doers fun run

It’s never too early to get kids embracing a healthy and active lifestyle! The Little Doers Melbourne Fun Run will take place 26 October at Malvern Gardens and invites kids of all ages to join in. It promises to be a great family day out which also encourages the little ones to enjoy some outdoor exercise. There will also be arts and crafts as well as educational tents for kids to learn about charities and worthy causes. And after the run you can enjoy a family picnic together!
