GoPro is rewarding customers cash for sharing their passions online

“Everyone’s a photographer these days.” We’ve all heard it and most of us have thought it but before you go getting all chuffed with yourself and your insta-worthy pic, there’s someone to thank for your supposed talent: Nick Woodman, the creator of GoPro cameras. Since their launch in 2004, GoPro have made waves around the globe and revolutionised the world of amateur (and professional) photography. What started as a wristband camera for surfers has transformed into a device for documenting and sharing human life – the amazing, the shocking, the inspiring and the mundane experiences we go through everyday.

GoPro enables a global movement of self-expression that’s resulting in some of the most compelling user-generated content ever created,” says Woodman. “Now we’re excited to start rewarding our customers for their content contributions with GoPro Awards.”

Launched this year, GoPro Awards was created to inspire and reward the GoPro community for sharing their photos and videos with the GoPro team. An ongoing program, the GoPro Awards will grant up to US $5 million annually to creators of content that emotionally engages, excites and amazes – from the extreme to the mainstream.

How does it work?

1. Capture: Your interests. Your passions. Your life…with a GoPro 2. Submit: Your most interesting photos and videos to gopro.com/awards 3. Receive: Global exposure and ongoing awards. GoPro Awards will be given for memorable photos ($500), raw video clips ($1000), and video edits ($5000) in a variety of genres. Genres include: Action, adventure, animals, family, motor sports, music, sports, science and how-to and travel

GoPro Awards creates exciting opportunities for our customers. Whether it’s helping them monetise their content in the form of financial rewards, helping to license their content to other businesses, or helping them get more exposure through our global social and media distribution channels, we’re dedicated to sharing with our community. We believe this program enables our customers to further pursue their passions,” says Woodman.

Today it’s common to see GoPro’s on hand (or strapped to heads) everywhere we go. From a doctor documenting surgeries to educate students to a father capturing his daughter growing up, GoPro customers represent a diverse group. So whether you’re an enthusiast or product professional, GoPro is encouraging everyone to participate.

“Our customers are some of the most creative people on the planet,” says Woodman.

Get involved and be rewarded for sharing your passions with the world. All you have to do is pursue your interests, capture your experiences and submit your most compelling moments to gopro.com/awards.
