There’s no point hiding it: we all secretly stalk fashion bloggers. We trawl through their Instagrams and religiously read their blogs, fervently updating our fashion wish list. It’s hard not to want everything they wear; It’s even harder deciding what to allow ourselves. But since we spend so much of our time in athleisure gear, we really have to pick and choose.
As much as we hate to admit it, not everything goes with tights. That being said, some things certainly do. If you choose wisely, you can go from squatting to strutting with ease. So, we dedicated the better part of an afternoon doing the necessary “research”. And what did we find? Seven key pieces kept coming up time and time again. It seems every fashion blogger owns these items. We put them to the test…and they’re tights-approved.
“I’m classy but cool, stylish but sophisticated, expensive but casual,” says the Gucci Printed Tee. And when paired with sporty tights, it screams it.
We might’ve mentioned how much fashion bloggers LOVE these sneakers but we’ll say it again. The Converse All Star Chuck Taylor Classic is an absolute essential. For tights, we like to go with the low top version. By showing your ankle they help elongate your legs, making your pins look extra flattering. Take off your trainers and put on these for the ultimate street-style look.
Not just your average denim jacket, the GRLFRND Daria Jacket is truly one of a kind. It is runway meets racetrack; the perfect mix of feminine but tough. And if you’re wondering, the embroidery means “nothing lasts forever” but don’t worry, the jacket definitely will.
We spotted the Mini Marie Pendant by Monica Vinader on many bloggers and it’s no surprise why. It’s a beautiful, timeless piece that you’ll have forever. Available in gold, rose gold and silver, it’s surprisingly affordable, but don’t be fooled, it doesn’t come with the chain.
Not quite a heel, not quite a flat, this platform sneaker fusion from Superga is our favourite kind of hybrid. It dresses up any outfit but still has that sporty-chic appeal which—let’s face it—we’re all going for.
If you think they’re overdone, think again. The Ray-Ban Round Metal sunglasses are an investment. Even if bigger frames are coming back in, these will never go out of style.
Whether this set or another, every blogger owns a pair of F+H Earrings. They’re all beautiful but we particularly love these, the ‘Bianca’ Large Hoop Earrings. They’re interesting but understated. Have these dangling from your ears and no one will be looking at your tights anyway!
