My tip would be to cut out sugar and stick to a really clean diet. That means lean protein, veggies, lots of good nutrients and high in fat. Taking a multi-vitamin and drinking lots of water or sticking to black coffee and green tea. No dairy. And of course working out. I think it’s important to find something you really enjoy. I enjoy hiking and dancing and work out with my trainer. I like to keep it different and interesting.
Absolutely. There was an article written in Time magazine recently about how important fat is. It’s very important because when you exercise and burn calories if you’re eating a high-fat diet you’re going to be burning fat which is the key. So what I eat, I don’t like to call it a diet, I just eat clean. High in fat and things that are low-GI as your metabolism is very important.
If I work out I’ll have a smoothie or if I want a bigger breakfast I’ll have scrambled eggs with avocado and bacon. For lunch I’ll have a piece of fish with veggies or chicken with a salad. You can still eat good foods, like a steak, that make you feel full. But it’s about foods that are slower to burn and give you the energy to workout. I find when I work out I crave protein.
I love green smoothies. I love fresh coconut water with some coconut oil, kale or any type of green powder and avocado. So that is my base for a smoothie that I have when I am working out. But, if we’re talking my favourite smoothie that I love making, it would have to be almond milk, some frozen blueberries and raspberries with a bit of banana and some cacao. Yummy!
Hydration is important. Colonics are also really good, that’s definitely a secret. I get them every so often especially when the seasons change. I think it is important to detox. I also do dry body brushing. Your skin is the biggest organ in your body and brushing really helps with getting rid of toxins.
Yes, of course. You must take a probiotic and you must treat them very safely. And in leading up to having one you must eat clean. It’s not the sort of thing where you would eat pizza and then get a colonic. I don’t think that’s the right way to go!
I’ve learnt that using a coffee scrub is really good at getting rid of water retention. Also keeping your eyebrows in place using an eyebrow gel.
Coconut oil is great for your hair and your face. You would also find SK-II. I think their products are incredible, they’re made from rice and are very moisturising. I really love using their masks. They’re really great for hydrating.
