Join sunrise yoga on Bondi Beach to celebrate World Yoga Day

world yoga day, yoga, yoga events

This Sunday is World Yoga Day, with 174 countries holding formal events to celebrate. To herald it here in Australia, A Sound Life is hosting a free mass Surya Namaskar (salute to the sun) at sunrise on Bondi Beach, followed by ticketed group meditation by world leading yoga teachers in the nearby iconic Bondi Pavilion.

The Pavilion element will comprise additional yoga classes, panel talks, meditation and healthy snacks, with all funds raised from the sponsor Victoria Coffee, A Sound Life Charity, helping to bring free yoga and music to a range of healthcare facilities with the help of muso ambassadors Ben Lee, Lisa Mitchel and Empire of the Sun’s Luke Steele.

So whether you’re a full-blown mat-toting yogi or a complete beginner, there will be something here for you (all fitness and activity levels are welcome). Learn something new and discover a sense of oneness with yourself, the world and nature whilst contributing to an incredible cause.

So if you’re in Sydney this weekend, jump on board and start your Sunday an amazing way with loads of like-minded souls. “Yoges (that’s what I call it) is the gift I get to give myself and when I teach, I get to share that gift with other souls,”  says Sporteluxe expert, nutritionist and yoga teacher, Lola Berry. “That’s pretty magical. Yoga in a word is magic”.

Hope to see you there!
