Anyone who knows us Frenchies knows we have a few issues with temperature. We’re either way too hot (that’s when you’ll see us sprawled out like a frog on our tummies panting like we’re stuck in a Dubai summer) or we’re just way too cold and curling up into your lower back or at your feet under the doona at night. I guess we’re temperamental, but hey we’re a good looking breed and we’ll just love you all the more for letting us creep into bed with you.
Anyway, last weekend I got to see what real snow looked like (other than the stuff I see on The Simpsons at night). As it happens, snow is actually super duper cold! I couldn’t have shivered myself all the way back to Sydney. One degree and lower!? Thanks Dad and Mum for no warning.
Thank goodness I packed my doggy tote appropriately – my new extreme cold weather resistant Ruffwear coat purchase definitely came in handy. Not only did it feel lighter than my little 12-week-old cousin Wookie The Blue Frenchie when she annoyingly climbs all over me, but it kept me warm. I loved those funny little sewn-in pockets (which dad liked to store my treats) and auto-lock buckles (whatever that means, all I know is that it slides off easily).
Dads favourite feature though, was the grey ‘reflective’ stripes so he couldn’t lose me at night time (sometimes I wish he would lose me more often, so I can just go and sniff my way around).
Anyway, as I said, if you have a Frenchie or a pet dog that looks like he needs some extra warmth during the chilly season, then I give a big ‘paws up’ to the Ruffwear Quinzee Jacket.
