With a strong coffee and eggs!
Nutrition is very important to me and plays a really important role in supporting my active lifestyle. I demand a lot physically from my body so it is important that I fuel it efficiently with good food choices. A high protein eating style with lots of healthy fats and limited carbohydrates works best for me. Breakfast is always three eggs and avocado with lots of fresh chilli then I eat lunch twice a day which consists of either salmon or chicken and salad. I have a post workout protein shake after my workouts and always finish the day with meat and vegetables for dinner.
As I’m always on the go, speedy muscle recovery time is key for me. To aid this, I take magnesium when I get home at night which helps relax my muscles and allows me to sleep better. I also have post workout protein shakes after a hard workout to speed up muscle recovery and enhance results. Other things I swear by are drinking a lot of water and having healthy snacks on hand such as raw nuts or blueberries for when I get peckish.
I don’t wear much make-up which helps when you’re sweating all the time so your pores don’t clog up. My go to skin products are NARS Tinted Moisturiser and MAC Brow Set. I drink a lot of water which keeps my skin fresh and swear by moisturiser, both for my face and body! I particularly like the Aesop Camelia Nut Facial Hydrating Cream, and ModelCo Hydrating Day & Night Moisturiser. My hair generally never stays clean for too long amongst all the exercise but Kevin Murphy Angel Wash and Rinse, keeps my power pony crisp and with a great shine.
My favourite Nike gym bag perfectly accommodates all my gym essentials! These consist of two pairs of Nike Pro compression shorts, Nike Flyknit Zoom Agility shoes, two Nike training tanks, Nike Rally hood, ModelCo Double Sided Facial Wipes, deodorant, protein powder and Comme des Garçons White perfume.
This may sound strange but exercise is my therapy! Whenever I get stressed I try and combat those feelings by getting active. Whether that be playing basketball with friends, going for a walk or trying out something different at the gym. Balance is incredibly important though! While I may not be so good at following this rule myself, taking a rest day each week is really important to give your body time to recover and change. Ultimately, this will enhance your results and help you avoid injury from overuse.
