While it’s always important to look after your health, there’s no time when it becomes more crucial than when you’re pregnant. When you’re expecting, you have not only have your own wellbeing to think about, but also the tiny human growing inside you.
And if you happen to live in Los Angeles there’s no better place to look after your health (and your baby’s) than LOOM. LA’s first pregnancy, parenting, and reproductive wellness hub opened its doors yesterday, filling a major gap in the market for women, expecting mothers, partners, and new families.
LOOM has a strong community focus and caters to women and partners in all stages of their pregnancy journey — from considering and expecting to parenting and loss. The centre will offer educational events and resources, doula services, individual coaching, group classes, and judgement-free, inclusive community support for both birth and non-birth outcomes.
@ericachidicohen 🗣 “Modern doulas support all birth outcomes, even if your choice is to move forward with a planned cesarean. Our job is to provide unconditional, non-judgmental support, and preserve the emotional integrity of her and her partner. A doula’s personal beliefs have no place in the birth environment. It’s about tuning into the client and meeting them wherever they are at, even if it’s a place unfamiliar to you.” Our co-founder shares insights on what doulas really do over on @mothermag 📸: @katedanson
We are working hard to create a kinder experience in the world and we promise that LOOM will be a place where you can listen and be heard without shame and judgement. It will be a place for all of us to go if we feel low or need advice. A place to encounter different ways of thinking and speaking to each other with respect. We will bring forth positive discussion on reproductive health, sexuality, fertility, pregnancy, parenting, adoption, plus non-birth outcomes such as miscarriage and abortion.

The space itself is a relaxing oasis, decked out with stunning, minimalist interiors. A LOOM membership is $200 annually (and only required for certain pathways) but to celebrate their opening they’re currently offering a special rate of $95. You can sign up here.
