Here are five of my fave foods to add to your plate for an instant happiness hit!
We’re talking salmon with the skin on please! Good fats, and particularly the Omega 3 fatty acids in this case, feed your brain. Studies have been done about the link between Omega 3 fatty acids and mental health. So keep the good fats up to keep yourself feeling bright and cheerful.
Another amazing fat! The more good fats we have in our diet the better, especially when it comes to moods and brain health. Plus, avocados have been linked to lowering LDL cholesterol and boosting HDL cholesterol, which contributes to cardiovascular health.
These guys contain both tryptophan and B6, which we need to make the happy neuro chemical “serotonin”. So it guess it’s no surprise that bananas even look like a smile!
Turkey is one of the highest food sources of the amino acid tryptophan. And we need adequate levels of tryptophan for serotonin. It’s also a very health lean meat.
Our brain still needs glucose for energy. Rather than turning to refined sugary things why not think about blueberries? They’re healthy but sweet enough to give the brain the sweet energy it needs sometimes.
