Want to know where all the A-listers go to workout in Hong Kong? Take a trip to 198 Wellington St, Central and you’ll find HK’s most elite, boutique fitness facility, TopFit.
Opening its doors in September, TopFit is the brainchild of entrepreneurial ‘it girl’, Lindsay Jang. You may know Lindsay as the founder of MISSBISH or some of Hong Kong’s most popular eateries including Yarbird, Ronin and Sunday’s Grocery (…need we say more?), but TopFit marks her first foray into the fitness world.
Growing up in New York and with expertise as a yoga practitioner, Lindsay knows a thing or two about health and wellness trends and when it came to TopFit, it’s clear she thought outside the treadmill. Treadmills and ellipticals, after all, aren’t for everyone and let’s be honest, overcrowded gyms don’t really set the mood.
Deviating from the conventional gym experience, TopFit provides a more personalised approach to training that focuses on maximising results for the individual. It boasts a small team of highly qualified trainers offering one-to-one personal training sessions as well as bespoke group classes. For example, ‘curves ahead,’ is a class specifically tailored to the female anatomy while ‘make me an athlete,’ mirrors the training of top athletes to maximise strength, power and endurance. Classes are capped to remain small and allow for a unique, curated experience.
TopFit is a boutique gym, but as our very own Bianca Cheah found out, what it lacks in size it makes up for in excellence and expertise. According to Bianca (who happens to know a thing or two about boutique studios, travelling the world to find the latest hot spots), it’s an architecturally savvy space with sleek grey walls, top of the range equipment and luxurious amenities. In short, TopFit is a fitness oasis amidst the hustle and bustle of Hong Kong.
