Melbourne’s hot new paleo cafe!

Melbourne is famous for its foodie scene. However, according to personal trainer and paleo food lover Tom Davidson one thing his city’s cafe culture lacks is enough healthy-yet-stylish eateries. So he decided to open one himself! “I was in LA for a personal training job and I was just blown away by how amazing the healthy food scene is over there,” recalls Tom. “It got me thinking about the fact that Melbourne lacked a really cool paleo-inspired cafe. I wanted to bring something to Melbourne that was in line with the standard of healthy cafes in LA.”

Enter Patch, Tom’s stylish new paleo-inspired cafe in Richmond. “It has been a great collaborative effort between my business partner Jacob Burke, our chef Brett Tait who has a fine dining background and I,” says Tom. “Coming from a personal training background and following a paleo diet I know this way of eating works. However, we really wanted Patch to blend primal-inspired food with a fine dining experience that will appeal to everyone.”

Tom’s good friend and our very own nutrition guru Lola Berry has given her tick of approval to the Patch menu, which includes such delectable offerings as paleo bircher, mushrooms with poached eggs and black truffle oil on paleo toast. Yum! Plus, Patch is located just off bustling Swan Street making it the perfect place to refuel after a little retail therapy.

Opening hours: Breakfast and lunch from 7am-4pm, seven days a week
