We all have that one friend who scans the menu looking for something that fits their dietary requirements. And if you don’t know one, then it’s probably you. More often than not, your choice of restaurant is based on what they can and cannot eat. Before you know it, you’re arguing about whether to go Chinese, Italian, or Mediterranean. Indian? We know what you’re thinking – Irritable Bowel Syndrome, hello.

That’s because you probably haven’t been to Nalini’s yet.

Before you roll your eyes yet again and disregard the tasty option, take a moment to reconsider. We may have found a healthy venue to surprise both you and your gut-sensitive friend.

Introducing: Nalini’s Wholesome Streetfood

Nalini’s is Sydney’s first probiotic, gluten-free, plant-based and Ayurveda themed restaurant. And if that statement isn’t a mouthful, wait till you taste the falafels.

Team Sporteluxe is all too excited to have discovered this healthy take on Indian street food. From the vegan cashew ice cream to the all round favorite masala wraps, they’re a plethora of options to tantalize your taste buds.

Located in Bondi Junction, the small eatery has carved its way onto the Sydney health food scene. We even spotted nutritionist/yogi Lola Berry digging into a fermented lentil wrap. The probiotic, ayurvedic menu is made in-house, meaning something is sure to satisfy your hungry soul and heal your gut. And if you’re coming out of yoga class, don’t be taken aback by the lack of coffee beans (or smell thereof). You’ll soon be all too happy to swap the overestimated java for a flavourful turmeric latte, just as ancient Indian Ayurveda ways intended.

The brainchild of former financial advisor Vidya Raman and her mother Nalini Raman, the store is run by the two ladies and their friend, Harry Lubitz. The brightly colored walls show pictures of South Indian street vendors and graffiti art of Tamil sayings.

Reviews have been raving thanks to happy eaters who get to enjoy wholesome, healthy meals along with a happy staff.

So now, the whole gang can dig into a meal without worrying about their coeliac or gluten free friends scanning the menu for something that won’t leave them running for the bathroom (hey, you know who you are).
