This week in Wellness Watch we’re gearing up for the Great Ocean Road Marathon, sipping cold-pressed juice in Perth and booking tickets to see Pete Evans share the stage with fellow My Kitchen Rules star Luke Hines in a speaking tour themed around living the paleo lifestyle.
Fresh from the success of his best-selling new paleo-inspired cookbook celebrity chef Pete Evans is embarking on a national speaking tour throughout July. Called Pete Evans The Paleo Way, the tour will see Pete, who is also a qualified health coach, share his passion for the paleo diet. Pete will be bringing along international paleo expert Nora Gedgaudas and Clean Living author and Bondi personal trainer Luke Hines, as he shares exactly how you can live a primal life in 2014. Tickets have just gone on sale and are available here. They’re selling out quick but don’t worry if you miss out – a second release is happening early next week!
We’re loving Perth’s first cold-pressed juice cleanse
Listen up Perth juice lovers! Perth’s first ever cold-pressed juice cleanse has just recently launched. Pure Glow Cleanse by Annette Gohl and Jacqueline Forth, is a three day cold-pressed juice cleanse designed to reboot your wellness.
We convinced the girls to share one of their fave smoothie recipes. This smoothie, which isn’t part of the Pure Glow Cleanse, is packed full of nutrients to help you glow from the inside out!
Pure Glow Clear Skin Smoothie
1 x cup of frozen blueberries
1 x small Lebanese cucumber chopped (skin washed thoroughly) or ¼ continental cucumber
1 x green tea bag (you can use decaf if you like!)
1 x cup of filtered water
Ice cubes as desired
1 Boil filtered water and pour into a mug with the green tea bag, brew for 5 minutes and remove tea bag. Allow tea to cool.
2 Once cooled pour tea into blender and add all other ingredients. Blend for 60 seconds. Pour into a glass and enjoy!
Gear up for the Great Ocean Road Marathon
Next Sunday May 18 is the annual Great Ocean Road Marathon. However, for those who aren’t interested in slogging it out for the 42kms, there is no reason to miss out on the beauty that the Great Ocean Road has to offer!
Hiking is a great way to challenge your fitness and really take in the magic. Try the Princetown to Glenample Hike for stellar views of the iconic Twelve Apostles.
Or, if you’re more a cyclist, try out one of the eleven regional riding tracks offered along the road, and change up your usual riding scenery.
Detour off the road and find yourself at the Otway Flytop Adventure, which offers a bird’s eye view of the incredible rainforest.
Finally, stop off at The Ridge Organic Food Store & Café to fuel up on delish local organic produce.
