If you thought boxing was just between Floyd Mayweather and Manny Pacquiao, think again. Boxing is now the workout of choice, with new boutique studios popping up faster than you can say “left right left.”
And it’s no wonder: boxing is a demanding, full body workout that helps improve endurance and strength as well as sculpt a lean and toned physique. Not to mention the emotional benefits of venting your frustrations into a boxing bag.
Founded by Milan Costich, Prevail prides itself on the welcoming, community-based atmosphere where the focus is health and wellness, rather than fighting. They’ve eliminated the ring and infused workouts with calorie-blasting cardio and muscle-toning technique for a fun, unintimidating interpretation of boxing completely unique to the fitness world. Think circuit training, boxing drills, plyometrics and core work, which target coordination, strength, endurance, range of motion, balance, and agility.
The stylish studio boasts a team of five highly qualified trainers and five assistant trainers. There are currently two types of classes (SWEAT and BOX) on offer, with a third (SCULPT) coming soon. But want to know the best part? Prevail offers over 60 classes at different time slots per week (yep, you read that right!), so there really is no excuse to miss a workout. But as our very own Bianca Cheah and Nike Master Trainer Kirsty Godso found out, you won’t want to miss a workout because the thrill of boxing is incredibly empowering and offers a sense of control, which is hard to come by in other workouts.
