Larina Robinson is a wholefoods dietician and nutritionist and the founder of The Body Dietetics. She’s also seriously fit, with an exercise routine ranging from high-intensity interval training to hot yoga. We’re lucky enough to have this gorgeous girl on the Sporteluxe team as our resident wholefoods dietician. After reading this interview we’re sure you’ll love Larina as much as we do!
I wake up between 5:30-6am, change into my workout clothes, grab a piece of fruit, put on my favourite music and head out the door to the gym.
It’s about listening to your body and giving it what it needs. Whether that be a nourishing meal, a HIIT class, some quiet time, a good laugh with friends or a big long sleep. It’s really about taking care of your body so you can get the most enjoyment out of life.
I love fresh foods. Organic, natural and in their pure-state as much as possible. Ensuring I get lots of variety from fruits, vegetables, meats, nuts and seeds. As I can’t have dairy, gluten, or much fructose/fructans due to intolerances.
I plan my meals around the vegetables not the meat! This ensures I always meet my five serves a day and it makes me feel amazing when I eat lots of vegetables.
I absolutely adore boxing! Though I mix it up each week and incorporate hot yoga, reformer Pilates and HIIT workouts too. I currently box one to two times a week, and workout five to six days a week.

I keep regular sugar in my cupboard for one reason – lip and body scrubs! It works beautifully and of course is naturally sweet smelling. To make a lip scrub just take about a teaspoon of sugar into the palm of your hand and add a dash of water or milk (any kind) to ‘soften’ the crystals slightly. Then use your fingers to gently rid your lips of any rough skin. Rinse, pat dry, put on some lip balm and you’ll have beautifully smooth, moisturised lips!
Nutritionally, always eat according to your own personal dietary needs. What goes on inside the body eventually shows itself on the outside. Also opt for low GI foods and processed foods as much as possible to prevent premature ageing, dull skin and reduce the number of breakouts.
My advice would be to make time every day to take life less seriously! I love to laugh and to get caught up in music. So when I am feeling really stressed out I’ll make time to listen to music really loud and have some fun being silly or watch a comedy show of some sort. Nothing major, just time for myself that makes me happy. I always do my best to get eight hours of sleep too, otherwise I just don’t function properly.
I think of the bigger picture. I try and take myself out of ‘now’ and think about what I really want to achieve in the future. Keeping my eye on the prize usually pushes me to keep going. You have to get out of your own head sometimes.
