I’m so excited to be writing my very first Stylish Wellbeing post! And seeing as though we’re only just getting to know each other, I figure I should give an idea of what I’m all about.
First, I believe in clean eating. In nourishing our bodies with wholefoods. Everyone’s definition of clean eating varies but, in essence, it’s just about opting for food that’s as close to its natural state as possible. Whether you’re paleo, vegan, vegetarian or pescartarian comes down to personal preference and what works for your body. Because the truth is we’re all different.
Some thrive on being strictly gluten-free. Others can’t get started in the morning without a big bowl of oats. For some a totally fructose-free diet works wonders. Others, like me, love using raw honey and organic maple syrup to make decadent (and refined sugar free) raw desserts.
If you eat real wholefoods, including lots of veggies, and listen to your body, you really can’t go wrong.
While we’re at it, let’s ditch any guilt associated with food. Even the healthiest of us needs to indulge in our culinary weaknesses every once in a while. Mine is organic cheese. It doesn’t love my body but my tastebuds sure as hell love it! I don’t eat cheese every day, but when I do I refuse to feel bad about it. Food is something to be savoured, not stressed over.
Vibrant health is about more than just the food you nourish your body with. It’s also about movement and the mind-body connection. Yoga is the perfect combo of both which is why I’m obsessed with it. I’m also a sucker for smoothies, think coconut oil is the best thing ever and absolutely can’t be trusted in a health food store. I’ll go in to buy one thing and walk out with two bags full of supplements and superfoods!
I think it’s totally possible to embrace holistic health without sacrificing your style. These days clean living is more hip than hippie. And there’s no greater luxury than waking up every day feeling amazing.
That’s where our all-new website comes in. I can’t tell you how inspired I am by what we are doing at Sporteluxe. And how grateful I am to the crazy-amazing expert contributors and talented collaborators who’ve come on board and believe in the vision Bianca and I have for our website as much as we do.
I also can’t wait to share my own personal wellbeing journey with you all through this blog . A mag girl since way back, I’m totally new to the blogging game. But hopefully, together, we can inspire each other to be the healthiest, happiest and absolute best versions of ourselves!
