I’ve never understood people who can exercise without music. If that’s you — kudos, you must have some serious discipline. But personally, I’d be lost without my tunes at the gym. Maybe it’s because it distracts me from my own thoughts (or the pain of squats), but nothing motivates me quite like a thumping beat.
That said, listening to music at the gym hasn’t always been convenient. Many times, I’ve become tangled up in my earphones or accidentally pulled the cord out when running on the treadmill (so annoying!) Plus, figuring out where to put your phone (or iPod, if you want to get really vintage) has proven to be mission impossible in the past.
So when Bluetooth headphones came along, I was quick to get on the bandwagon. They block distracting background noise and you don’t have to deal with the pesky cords! What’s not to love? But when it comes to wireless earbuds, you’re still faced with the dilemma of having them fall out when you’re exercising (especially if you have freakishly small ears like me.)
The solution? Wireless, over-ear headphones! Gone are the days when they were those big, clunky things worn only by DJs and gamer nerds. Now, they’re as much about fashion as they are function. In fact, they look more like an accessory than a tech gadget! Not only do they give you handsfree, high-quality sound, they’re actually the perfect finishing touch to any chic activewear ensemble.
