We’re always on the lookout for places that serve deliciously fresh food and when we visited the Greenhouse Factory we certainly weren’t disappointed! Situated directly across from the beach on the gorgeous Kirra Beach, you can sit back, relax and enjoy some seriously good food.
The menu is 100% plant based and features an impressive list of raw, organic and healthy alternatives for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Think organic French toast, zucchini pasta, raw tacos and raw pad thai. They also have an impressive list of superfood smoothies and cocktails! We were also equally impressed with the amazing fit out of the cafe, especially the hanging greenery and wood fit out. Perfect for leisurely weekend breakfasts or lunches spent soaking up the sunshine!
We’re predicting Greenhouse Factory will become a top Gold Coast healthy food hotspot! We sat down to have a chat with the owner and creator of Greenhouse Factory, Natalie Evans. Here’s what she had to say!
Can you tell us about Greenhouse factory?
Our cafe is just over a year old. The concept behind Greenhouse Factory was to bridge the gap between veganism and the mainstream food industry. Having been vegan for four years I couldn’t find anywhere that I enjoyed dining at the menu was never a la carte and vegan food is often still associated with ‘hippie food’. I thought if we can serve cocktails and plant-based food maybe that will invite more people to the lifestyle and it has which is nice.
What kind of food do you offer?
The menu is 100% plant based food, even when we say cream or cheese it’s all made from nuts and other plant-based ingredients. It’s also all made in house.
What can customers expect?
A seasonally changing menu! Every Saturday and Sunday morning my sister and I will go to the farmers markets and make sure we get enough fresh produce for the big weekend ahead. We’re always finding new and exciting things to pull together. We pride ourselves on presentation, we make our meals look so beautiful that you’re forced to take that picture! I can’t believe the power of social media, its grown Greenhouse.
What are your signature dishes?
Our raw tacos, raw pad thai and open sunflower burger.
And your future plans?
My aim with Greenhouse is to turn it into more of a brand, I don’t want it to just be associated with food. We are actually in the process of launching a fashion line. We will be hosting a fashion show next month with lots of vegan designers, that’s what were going to play around with.
