Ok, so you’re planning a vacation and you want to go to a city. I’d say two of the first options that come to mind are either New York or San Francisco. While New York is always a fun option– San Fran has some pretty spectacular things to offer that you just can’t get from the east coast. From the Golden Gate Bridge and Alcatraz Island to the historic architecture (shout out the ‘Full House’ house!) and cable cars that line the street. Experience SF like a local with this weekend guide.
You can’t deny that we’re all still kids at heart. And the SF Exploratorium caters to both our adult and inner child senses with their Thursday Nights After Dark series. Here you are immersed in over 650 interactive exhibits and mind-bending experiences. And the best part about it? It’s for adults only so grab a drink and your friends and do your thing!

Zazie is a San Fran locals best-kept secret. Here, they offer dinner and American style brunches that are TO DIE for. And besides its bomb breakfast foods, we’re always down to support a business that supports its people! Zazie has been recognized as one of the most employee-friendly places to work. They offer full benefits, paid sick days and their tip-free policy means that 25% of every dish is sold is tipped back to the employees. You know what they say…happy employees–better food and service 😉 Note: You have to try the Eggs Benedict or the French Toast Tahiti!

You could actually spend a whole day at this park. If you’re not into doing any physical activity, the view from the top is breathtaking. There are sweeping views of the ocean and Golden Gate Bridge. If you’re feeling more adventurous, there are trails leading down to the beach that stretches from corner to corner of the park. Pro tip: on the trail down, don’t miss out the photo op of the golden gate bridge framed by twisted tree branches! At the bottom, you can sunbathe on the beach or look for tiny sea creatures in the tidepools.

San Fran is a loud and busy place. And as fun as it is to explore the city, one of the gems you have to explore is right outside the city–just a ferry ride away. Before you hop on the boat for a short but stunning ride across the bay, give yourself extra time to walk through the Pier 39 shops. Sausalito is a small beach town, walking down the streets it’s almost like a blast from the past. You can make a full day trip out of it; bike around and explore all of the mom and pop shops along the main drag. Ending your time there at the ice cream shop is highly recommended.

We like these steps for 2 reasons. 1) If you’re trying to get a workout in while on your trip– here ya go. 163 steps of super cool hand-tiled artwork. A little more entertaining than stadiums if you ask me! 2) This spot is SO Instagrammable! Parts of it even glow at night from the moonlight. Still can’t get over the glowing moon…
