We’re total suckers for a romantic proposal story—you better believe we follow @howheasked and tag friends in every second clip. So when we spotted this unbelievable new video from two acroyogis, we knew it needed to be shared immediately.
Steph Gardner, 24, and Alec Horan, 24, from Pennsylvania are both keen yogis and have been dating and practicing acroyoga (a particularly athletic version of the practice) together for a couple of years. During that time they got very close, fell in love, and recently became engaged—mid yoga pose, no less. The proposal, which was conveniently captured on film, is now going viral and has been viewed nearly 30,000 times.
Here’s how it went down: Alec took his then-girlfriend, Steph, on a trip to Oahu, Hawaii and while there suggested they set up a camera to video their newest acroyoga moves. The couple regularly share sequences with their followers on Instagram, so this wasn’t anything out of the ordinary. Mid-pose, Alec pulled out a ring (custom made, because of course) and popped the question.
“I planned a trip to Hawaii, this March, and also had the ring custom made, it was all planned out,” Alec told The Daily Mail of his insanely romantic proposal, adding: “We love setting up the camera to get good yoga shots, it’s intimate and a very good way for me and Steph to connect.”
And cynics, if you’re reading this thinking it’s too adorable to be true, just take a look at the full video (and Steph’s face when he pulls out the ring!) and tell us this isn’t legit.
