If you’ve yet to experience the pure fat burn and afterburn that Orangetheory Fitness provides, you may be in luck because the company has announced plans to open more than 300 locations in 2018. It’s time to get pumped.
“Orangetheory Fitness’ explosive success has further established the brand as a truly exceptional concept with a strong business model that allows for tremendous growth,” CEO Dave Long said in a press release, according to Club Industry. “Less than 10 years since its conception, our brand has become the leader in the fitness industry, and the passion of our franchisees has been a driving force behind these achievements. … 2017 was a huge year for Orangetheory Fitness, and moving into our new global headquarters has allowed us to expand our team alongside the company’s growth. We look forward to accelerating this momentum and going ‘all out’ as we take the brand to new heights in the years to come.”
A favorite of influencers, celebrities (check out Erin Andrews rocking out on the rower), and fitness enthusiasts alike, the franchise is known for the 36-hour afterburn, thanks to its signature treadmill runs and cardio workouts.
So how does it work? Before you hop on the machine, you’re fitted with a heart rate monitor that will track the number of “splat points” you accumulate throughout the workout. Gain more points, increase the amount of time your body will burn fat post-workout.
With a focus on endurance, power, and strength, you’ll get a full-body workout that’ll have you doing on-treadmill runs and floor circuit work. Basically, you’ll be sweating it out for 60 minutes minimum. That’s basically a guarantee. You’ll reach the “orange zone” and you’ll feel it for days afterwards.
Now, with nearly 900 studios in existence, the company plans to have 1,130 locations by the end of the year. That means you’ll never be too far from your nearest Orangetheory.
