Founded by Kevin and Adam Pearce after Kevin’s devastating near-fatal traumatic brain injury, LoveYourBrain is a charitable organization with a mission to spread awareness around traumatic brain injuries (TBI) and rehabilitation. Using meditation, yoga, and other mindfulness techniques, LoveYourBrain teaches people with TBIs how to heal their brains and bodies.
The organization also focuses on advocacy around TBIs through speaking engagements, film projects, and retreats for those who have experienced a TBI—and in the process, LoveYourBrain has created an incredible community of thousands of people who are in the process of healing from a brain injury.
As a part of lululemon’s Here to Be initiative, the company has aligned with charitable organizations that it wants to support—kind of like their instructor store ambassador program, but on a larger scale. LoveYourBrain is one of lululemon’s Here To Be partners, and as a result, these two incredible orgs have joined forces to create some amazing experiences and opportunities.
Which brings us to the meditation Airstream. Yes, it’s exactly what you’re envisioning in your head—shiny metal from the outside, airy zen oasis on the inside. This mindfulness studio on wheels serves as the official mascot for the LoveYourBrain crew as they visit nine cities on their way from Los Angeles, CA to Whistler, B.C. on their tour to raise awareness about the impact of traumatic brain injury, through film, yoga, meditation and conversation.
Follow LoveYourBrain and lululemon to find out where the next stop on the tour, and if they’re in your city join in on the fun. LYB and lululemon will be hosting yoga classes at local studios, offering free meditation classes, and screening their newest film about TBI awareness in Ojai, Los Angeles, Santa Cruz, San Francisco, Tahoe, Bend, Portland, Vancouver, and Whistler.
