As soon as cool girl, millennial beauty brands such as Glossier and Milk Makeup came onto the scene, makeup and skincare enthusiasts everywhere dropped their Urban Decay palettes and Clinique moisturizers, bolted to their laptops, and ordered any and all products on these up-and-coming sites.
These aesthetically-pleasing beauty brands have completely shaken up the industry causing clients to stray away from the companies that have been tried and true for years. Now, we’re opting for more indie brands that come off as more natural, effective, and relatable to millennials (not to mention, they all are complete with ‘gram-worthy packaging, which is obviously very important when choosing a skincare product in this day and age, right?).
Not all of these brands are fresh to the market. Believe it or not, some have been used for fifty years only to be repackaged and freshened up to be more eye-catching to their demographic, like Georgette Klinger, for example. These brands give results, just like their competitors, and take pride in creating products that twenty-somethings will drool over.
Here are eight of our favorite ultra-chic millennial beauty brands that need to be on your radar, like, now.
Founded by Czechoslovakian beauty queen (yes, we’re serious), Georgette Klinger, this skincare line stems from a long run with acne after she was given some “luxury” cosmetics that caused her serious breakouts. Now, the GK team carries on Georgette’s legacy still helping users get actual results whether your issue is breakouts, dark sports, aging, or dullness. Okay, and can you even handle how amazing the packaging is?! Swoon!
Realizing that the beauty industry needed a serious pick-me-up when it came to shade ranges for complexion products, Linda Wells (founding editor of Allure) went ahead and solved that issue. With flesh, it’s all about everyone being able to feel comfortable in their skin (and in a foundation that actually matches their skin). The newly launched brand offers everything from highlighting balms and “glisten drops” to eye and cheek glosses and stick foundations.

Forty years ago, founders Kim and Zoe were seriously struggling with eczema. Luckily, they had parents who were doctors and worked hard on creating a formula that ended up healing the sisters’ skin. The formula they created removed ingredients instead of adding them. The two went on to create their own skin line honoring their parents including products with short, easy-to-read ingredient lists.
4. Cinch Skin
Cinch knows the life of a millennial is hectic, packed with to-dos, already quite overcomplicated, so they created a skincare line that is, well, the complete opposite. All of Cinch’s products are quick and easy to use multitaskers that cut down your getting ready time by at least half (take their Face It 5-in-1 Cleansing Water + Glow, for example).
5. One Over One
With the concept “simplicity is beautiful” in mind, One Over One has a unique position on the beauty industry. They celebrate your natural contours, imperfections, and skin tones without trying to change or “perfect” your skin beyond what it is. The idea behind the brand is that they complement the beauty you already possess — like a “white t-shirt that you can dress up or dress down”.

6. Baja Bae
Millennials were definitely kept in mind while Baja Bae was in the works. Right now, the brand consists of one all-star product: the Caramel Lotion. It is the first real caramel lotion that is made with actual caramel extract to gives you that instant Jennifer Lopez-bronzey glow everyone is after. The ingredients are natural and effective, and aside from being used as a bronzing accelerant in the sun, one can also slop this on as an everyday tinted moisturizer.

In 2016, founders Lynnsee and Nick van Gordon started Anese with a core line of five elixirs and has now expanded to a range of over 15 products all packed with natural, non-harmful, easy-to-pronounce ingredients. They like to keep it real, not only with their genuine extracts and oils but with their in-your-face product names like “That booty tho.” or “Down with the thickness.”

8. BYBI Beauty
Looking at the fact that everyone deserves to know what is in the beauty products that they’re slathering all over their skin, creators Elsie and Dominika knew they needed to shake up the industry. Their skincare line is 100% natural, vegan, and cruelty-free meaning you can feel good about the products that you’re using. The high-quality ingredients do work on your complexion making you look and feel your best (and have seriously cute products to take sweet shots of for the ‘gram).
