Fact: plants have a positive impact on your health—even small houseplants can help to purify and filter harmful chemicals from the air in your apartment or home. Perhaps that’s one of the reasons why house-plants are having such a moment in decor right now. Leading the charge on Instagram is an army of self-proclaimed plant mamas—women who are just damn into their greenery. Ahead, we’ve rounded up a few of our favorite plant mamas on Instagram to get you inspired.
1. Jenna Holmes
Australian plant mama, Jenna Holmes, brings greenery to the busy city of Melbourne. Holmes is actually a professional plant-lover who builds what she calls “indoor jungles” in workspaces and homes. “Those Pinterest images you’ve saved with plants hanging from the roof, plants cascading down bookcases and every nook and cranny filled with green, that is my job,” she writes on her website. She also styles super-green special events and has plants available for hire to use on photo shoots, pop-ups, open houses, and weddings.
2. Anne van Ours
Anne has all the Pinterest plant-fodder you could ever need. The Barcelona-based blogger shares inspirational photos of plant styling as well as handy tips on how to recreate that urban jungle vibe at home.
I’ve started this account nearly 9 months ago and I just realized I’ve never posted a picture of my face on here. I couldn’t found a good picture of myself surrounded with my plantfamily, so I have to make one soon. For now here’s a picture of me when I visited the Botanical Gardens in München a few years back. The picture was taken before I had kids, so a few years later, many sleepless nights and too many extra kilo’s later and I don’t really look like this anymore, but I really loved the Botanical Gardens and I hope someday I’ll be able to visit them again!
3. Siebeke Asselbergs
Siebeke describes herself as a plant hoarder rather than a plant mama, but the result is the same: hundreds of screenshot-worth snaps of green homes.
4. Cara Andersen
Cara is a model, dog-lover, and a plant-enthusiast, which makes for some pretty brilliant Instagram inspiration. She has a Bachelor of Environmental Design specializing in interior design and is equipped to drop expert advice about how to style the plant corner in your home.
