Why growing your beard is a worthwhile cause

November is here, which means it’s time once again for men to shelve their razors and grow their mo’s to support men’s health. One of Sydney’s coolest boutique hotels, QT Sydney, is supporting this worthwhile cause, announcing a range of special offers and a new partnership with fellow Australian charity, Beard Season. We have the inside scoop.

Movember is here

The Movember Foundation is a global charity committed to men living happier, healthier, longer lives, by using the moustache as a catalyst for change. Since 2003, millions have joined the movement, raising $685 million and funding over 1,000 programs focused on tackling some of the biggest health issues faced by men – prostate cancer, testicular cancer, poor mental health and physical inactivity.

To share their passion for fine moustaches and men’s health, spaQ Barber Shop at Sydney’s QT Hotel will offer special packages throughout the month of November.

Beard SeasonGents are invited to purchase a ‘QT Shave: Tidy-Shave’ package which includes a shave down at the start and the end of the month, and also a moustache trim and tidy mid-way through. Valued at $120, those participating in Movember will pay just $100 and QT Hotels will donate $25 of that to this worthwhile charity.

Even if you’re not growing a mo this year, you’ll still be supporting Movember when you shave at the Barber Shop, with $10 from every shave service during November being donated to changing the face of men’s health.

As well as showing their support for Movember, QT Sydney is teaming up with Beard Season, a charity dedicated to raising awareness and funds for melanoma research by encouraging those most at risk (men aged 18-45) to book a skin-check.

To spread the word, the QT Barber shop will stock a limited run of Beard Season Playing Cards. These deluxe playing cards (codenamed #Project60) are the brainchild of iconic photographer Mr Elbank and feature some of the greatest beards in the world. A must for any aficionado of style with substance.
