Sore the day after a workout? You should be stretching!

Muscle soreness was one of my top reasons why I skipped exercise in the past. But now after many pep talks from my personal trainers, I’ve found that  stretching is key after a workout. You see, when you exercise, the lactic acid builds up in your muscles which leads to fatigue and muscle soreness. Stretching post a workout means that your muscles are warm and you have increased blood circulation that helps your muscles recover faster from the workout and prevent any future injuries. Also stretching after a workout is a fantastic stress relief and is known to calm the nerves and relax the mind. So next time you are exercising  remember to stretch, stretch, stretch.
