You’ll want these exclusive adidas by Stella McCartney tennis pieces

Stella McCartney tennis collection

The dramatic red clay courts of Roland Garros, home of the French Open, will turn into a designer fashion runway from this Sunday, May 24.

Every time former world number 1 tennis star, Caroline Wozniacki, steps onto court throughout the Paris tournament, she’ll also debut stunning new Spring Summer 2015 pieces created exclusively for her by adidas by Stella McCartney. Each is an addition to the stunning barricade collection that’s on sale right now, and all of which we’re pretty sure you’ll want once you’ve spotted them. (We certainly do!)

As you can see in these behind-the-scenes pictures of the 25-year-old’s luxe on-court wardrobe-to-be, they’re as functional and high tech as necessary for an elite athlete, but also extremely feminine too.

Our favourite look? Easily the bright amber yellow all-in-one tennis dress with racer back and mesh inserts. It’s eye-catching, but still pretty, thanks to the large 3D floral motifs and embroidery it sports, which were inspired by elements of Parisian interior design and have already drawn style comparisons to Stella’s ready-to-wear pieces. You’ll spot the same motif on the white skorts (the ultimate tennis wardrobe staple!) she steps out in too.

While Danish-born Wozniacki undoubtedly have the style spotlight in the arena, the most important advantages performance-wise are the high tech features that have literally been woven into the outfits – such as ClimaLite zones in key areas for temperature control.

Along with fellow competitors Andrea Petkovic, Garbine Muguruza and Flavia Pennetta, Wozniacki will also showcase the latest fashion-meets-performance barricade shoes, which you’ll be able to spot if you look clearly from their signature chrome-finish heel, which covers an updated foot stabilising system. These shoes are pretty much as luxe as any performance sports shoe gets!

“For me, this season’s new adidas by Stella McCartney barricade kit looks as great as it feels,” Wozniacki has said in a formal statement. “The collection’s simple, chic colourways complement the Roland Garros look perfectly, which I love.”

Superstar athlete AND style star? This lady’s already won us over.

The French Open runs from May 24 to June 7 at Roland Garros.
